GORDO was formed in the SF Bay Area in the mid-1990s when songwriting buddies Gordon Webb and Jon Michelsen joined forces with local guitar legend Ron Stanley to record demos for gordo’s recently penned lyrics. With NY bassist Rob Westover and session drummer Ricky Carter in tow, the quintet recorded the alt-rock classic GORDO – "My Favorite Affliction" and have now been reborn as Ashes of Gordo.
